If you are shopping for a used SUV, you may want to consider buying a used Acura MDX. The first-generation Acura MDX came out in 2001. It came standard with an all-wheel drive system and a 240-hp 3.5-liter V6. It was a seven passenger mid size SUV. Acuras are considered high-end cars and the MDX is no different. It received rave reviews for being well-built and well-equipped with quality parts. In 2003, the MDX enjoyed a power boost of 20 horses. The brakes were updated, the suspension was tuned and a DVD entertainment unit became available (this made it increasingly popular with families). Both the interior and exterior were remodeled with a fresh new look. In 2005, the MDX became available with satellite radio, bluetooth capabilities and an updated navigation system.
The MDX did great in crash test scores and were considered very safe. Driver reviews were generally very positive. Owners enjoyed all of the safety features, reported a smooth ride and really enjoyed having space for up to seven passengers. Most felt the price was reasonable and that they got a great deal for their money. The Acura is not as luxurious as some other models--such as the Lexus models--but does enjoy the same safety features and did as well in crash tests. Keep in mind that later models of the Acura MDX will have more luxury features than older models. It would be well-advised to buy a used Acura MDX or a certified used Acura MDX. Acuras are well-regarded, high-end cars that enjoy great reputations for safety and reliability. Check out the links below on CarsDirect for more information and listings for used Acura MDXs.
