To find a used GMC Envoy that’s affordable and meets your driving needs, you have to first research the various models available. The Envoy debuted as a luxury trim of the GMC Jimmy line in 1998. It was then phased out in the year 2000. This luxury trim of the Jimmy line featured heated exterior mirrors, HID headlamps, a Bose audio system and other optional features. The second generation Envoy was manufactured and sold between 2002 and 2009. These SUV’s were equipped with 270hp straight-6 Vortec 4000 engines. The Envoy was also available as the Envoy XL that could seat 7 passengers, as the vehicle was designed to hold 3 rows of seats. A new model was then added to the Envoy lineup in 2003, known as the Envoy XUV. The 2003 XUV has a retractable rear roof and a waterproofed cargo area. However, most customers found the cargo area much smaller, in comparison to other SUV’s in the same class. In 2005, a new luxury model was introduced to the market. This was known as Envoy Denali. The SUV had many additional features such as heated seats and rain-sensing windshield wipers. The vehicle was also equipped with the Vortec 5.3-Liter V8 engine. 2007, 2008 and 2009 model year vehicles have certain additional features like side-curtain airbags and Bluetooth connectivity. Although several models have been discontinued, you may be able to buy a used GMC envoy from used car dealers or private sellers.
