It’s important for a potential car buyer to have some information about the used Kia Sportage. The Sportage was first developed in the early 1990’s during the collaboration of Ford, Mazda and Kia. This vehicle had the same engine and transmission as the Mazda. The first generation Sportage was a mini SUV and had a 2 liter Beta I-4 engine, and was the world’s first vehicle to be fitted with a knee airbag. It was discontinued in 2002 for quality issues. The second generation Sportage, a compact SUV, was released in 2005, with improved quality and overall finish. The new Sportage comes in 3 trims, namely the LX, LX V6 and EX V6. The LX has a 2 liter 140hp I-4 engine and a 5 speed manual transmission, and is available in the automatic full time four wheel drive or the standard front wheel drive. It also has 16 inch silver alloy wheels, tilt steering wheel, power windows, locks and mirrors. The LX V6 is powered by a 2.7 liter 173hp V6 engine and a 4 speed automatic transmission. It’s also available in the automatic full time four wheel drive or the standard front wheel drive and has manual front air conditioning and cruise control. Like the LX V6, the EX V6 is powered by a 2.7 liter 173hp V6 engine and a 4 speed automatic transmission. In addition, it has body colored side moldings and fender flares, trip computer, leather steering wheel and shift knob, and cargo net. The vehicle is equipped with safety features such as traction control, electronic stability control, front wheel anti-lock brakes, and front and side impact airbags. The Sportage is pleasing to the eye, offers improved quality and increased passenger room and is also low priced.
