Volkswagen GTI MPG

Now in it's fifth generation, and soon headed to its sixth, the Volkswagen GTI is a very popular performance hatchback, but despite its power, Volkswagen GTI MPG is relatively high thanks to its small size. The GTI sports a 2.0 liter turbocharged four cylinder engine, and can be mated to either a five speed manual or six-speed automatic transmission. It produces 200 horsepower. In manual transmission form, the GTI gets an EPA combined rating of 25 MPG, however, if your GTI is outfitted with the six speed automatic, the EPA estimates that the fuel economy is 27 MPG. This is a testament to the quality of the transmission under the skin of the GTI, as in most cases, the manual versions of vehicles are able to achieve better gas mileage than their automatic counterparts, but if you prefer the feel of a manual in a performance car like this, the extra two miles per gallon aren't much to fret over.
