Volkswagen R32 Generations
For each major redesign, a vehicle is said to begin a new "generation."
The R32 gets its name from the 3.2 liter, 250hp, six-cylinder engine under the hood. The only transmission choice is Volkswagen's DSG (Direct Shift Gearbox) transmission, allowing either automatic shifting or automated manual operation through the use of finger-operated paddle shifters on the steering wheel. It is available only as a two-door hatchback, featuring all-wheel-drive, 18-inch summer performance tires and a choice of four colors. Volkswagen has packaged the R32 with six airbags, including side curtain and side torso airbags for the front passengers. Antilock brakes and electronic stability control help to keep the car under control in all conditions.
The following model years make up the most recent Volkswagen R32 generations:
2004 - 2008 Volkswagen R32
