The C70 only comes in one model, a hardtop convertible. It is powered by a 227-hp turbocharged 2.5-liter inline-five-cylinder engine matched with a five-speed Geartronic automatic transmission. Safety features include electronic stability and traction control and anti-lock brakes with brake force distribution. In addition to the front airbags, there are front side airbags, and air curtains which activate upwards from the doors, even with the windows rolled down. The Rollover Protection System, a pop-up rollbar, is activated by a "pyrotechnic charge", which will smash the rollbars through the glass if the roof is up.
Major changes included: The second Generation C70 omits the coupe, leaving only a convertible body style. It offers either a 2.4 liter 5-cylinder or 2.5 liter turbocharged 5-cylinder engine choice. The current C70 also sits with a more aggressive, lower stance than previously.
