Overview

The F-150 trims consist of the rugged and reliable XL, the sporty STX, the versatile and well equipped XLT, the durable FX4 and the luxurious Lariat. Each trim boasts its own unique styling, appearance and capabilities. Three engine choices include a 4.2-liter V6, a 4.6-liter V8 and a 5.4-liter V8 which has an available flexible fuel variant able to operate on ethanol (E85). The 4.2-liter V6 can be mated to a 5-speed manual or a 4-speed automatic transmission. Both V8's are paired with a 4-speed automatic transmission. The F-150's versatility offers 4x2 or 4x4 drive systems, three cab styles, various pickup box designs and a host of option groups and available features. When properly equipped, the F-150 can accommodate up to 6 passengers, or can tow an impressive 11,000 pounds or have a payload of 3050 pounds. For 2008, the Ford F-150 gets a SuperCrew XL trim, an available pickup box cargo management system and an optional reverse backup camera.
