The Sport Quattro will reportedly closely resemble the attractive Quattro Concept (shown), its muscular fenders and wide-mouth grille signifying the future styling direction for the brand. The concept car features a turbocharged 2.5-liter inline-5 with 408 horsepower, though Germany’s Auto Bild reports a slightly more conservative figure for the production model, with sport-tuned plug-in hybrid power a distinct possibility.
With a small annual production run of around 10,000 units, the Sport Quattro will slot into Audi’s lineup between the $58,905 TT RS and $69,795 RS 5 at one end, and the $115,450 R8 at the other. Is there room for another performance coupe in Audi’s lineup? We say: why not?
