There are two engines available in the Q5: a 2.0-liter turbocharged inline four-cylinder engine that makes 211 hp, and a supercharged 3.0-liter V6 rated at 272 hp (there’s also a hybrid version of the inline four). Both engines are mated to Audi’s eight-speed Tiptronic quattro all-wheel drive automatic transmission. The Q5 seats five with ample cabin space, among the largest in its class, and it’s capable of towing up to 4,400 lbs.

The interior features three-zone climate control, a four-spoke multifunction steering wheel, leather seats, eight-way power front seats, and a split folding rear seat for bulky cargo. A range of front, side and curtain airbags keep front seat occupants safe, with optional rear passenger airbags. Electronic Stability Control (ESC) with traction control (ASR), anti–lock brake system (ABS) with Electronic Brake–pressure Distribution (EBD), brake assist, and electronic tire pressure monitoring all work to make sure you never need the airbags. A 10-speaker audio system with mp3 capability and automatic headlights and windshield wipers are also standard.
