Choosing Your Fiat 500c

An open-air 500 comes in three trim levels that range from the docile to the exciting.

Base Pop models include a five-speed manual transmission hooked to the 500’s naturally aspirated 1.4-liter engine with 101 horsepower and 98 pound-feet of torque. It delivers 31mpg city and 40 mpg highway.

Standard equipment includes 15-inch steel wheels with chrome-accented wheel covers and all-season tires, air conditioning, an AM/FM/CD/MP3 radio with auxiliary audio input, a leather-wrapped steering wheel with audio controls, BLUE&ME hands free communication technology, power windows, power door locks and power heated mirrors.

Also included in the base price are rear park assist and a dual-layer power cloth top.

The upmarket Lounge adds premium amenities like chrome accents, premium cloth seats, satellite radio, a premium audio system and 15-inch cast-aluminum wheels with a seven split-spoke design.

The Abarth brings high performance to the table with a turbocharged 1.4-liter engine that makes 160 horsepower and 170 pound-feet of torque. Zero-to-60 mph performance is in the low 7-second range. The Abarth soft-top also includes all the high performance suspension, braking and more aggressive wheel and tire setup as the coupe.

Important options to consider include a six-speed automatic transmission with driver-selectable gear changes available on all models except Abarth. It provides smooth shifting and excellent fuel economy. Also worth considering is the segment-exclusive Beats by Dr. Dre audio system with six premium speakers, an 8-inch dual-voice coil subwoofer and eight-channel 368-watt amplifier with Beats Audio digital sound processing algorithm.

CarsDirect Tip

If your budget allows, the Abarth comes with an intoxicating exhaust note that is not to be missed. Otherwise, we'd recommend going for the mid-range Lounge.
