2014 Lexus IS 250

The all-new IS 250 highlights a compelling new design, improved handling and more interior space. Also, Lexus’ revamped infotainment platform makes its debut. No manual transmission is available.

Under the hood is the familiar all-aluminum V6 that entered production nearly eight years ago. This is mated to a six-speed automatic transmission. The 2.5-liter V6 puts out 204 horsepower and 185 pound-feet of torque while serving up fuel economy numbers of 21 mpg city and 30 mpg highway in rear-wheel drive configuration, or 20 mpg city and 27 mpg highway in all-wheel drive.

The IS 250 has a step up on some German competitors with more standard features. Expect a moonroof, xenon headlights, an 8-speaker audio system with a 7-inch LCD display, keyless access and start, and LED running lights. You'll still pay extra for genuine leather upholstery—the base IS 250 comes with NuLuxe faux-leather.

Standard safety equipment consists of 10 airbags, an advanced suite of electronic stability controls, and Safety Connect telematics services with automatic collision notification, roadside assistance, and stolen vehicle location.
