The 2014 Lincoln MKZ Hybrid offers the highest miles per gallon of any luxury vehicle in America with an estimated EPA rating of 45 mpg, whether in the city or on the highway. It's also an excellent value. While other automakers charge a premium for hybrid variants, the MKZ Hybrid carries the same price as the conventional gasoline-powered MKZ.
Compared to the previous-generation Hybrid MKZ, the current model offers improved driving dynamics, elegant design and premium materials throughout.
What's New for 2014
Like its non-hybrid sibling, there are few changes for 2014, limited to the addition of several new colors. The MKZ Hybrid was significantly revised for the 2013 model year with next-generation lithium-ion batteries that save weight and generate more power than the nickel-metal-hydride batteries used in pre-2013 models. The 2-liter Atkinson-cycle four-cylinder gas engine retains performance with more efficiency than the previous 2.5-liter unit; and the 70-kilowatt electric traction motor can power the car up to 85 mph on its own. Total system power is 188 horsepower.
