2015 Audi S3 Overview

The delinquent brother of Audi's entry-level A3 sedan, the all-new S3 is for buyers who crave big performance from a small luxury car. It's a serious contender that's not shy about its sheer eagerness to be driven.

What's New for 2015

The S3 is a new addition to the Audi lineup.

Choosing Your Audi S3

The S3 receives a heavily massaged version of the 2-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine used in other Audi products. Output is 292 horsepower, enough to take the S3 from zero to 60 mph in a scorching 4.7 seconds. Every S3 gets all-wheel drive, a six-speed automated manual transmission and selectable driving modes. A sport-tuned suspension and performance-spec brakes complete the mechanical setup.

The S3 is offered in Premium Plus and Prestige trim levels:

Premium Plus

Comes with leather and faux suede upholstery, heated front sport seats with power adjustments and driver memory, Bluetooth phone and audio, auto-dimming mirrors, keyless ignition, a sunroof, and a 10-speaker sound system with HD and satellite radio. Exteriors receive automatic xenon headlamps, automatic wipers, LED running lights and taillamps, and 18-inch wheels with summer performance tires.

Prestige

Carries a bundle of additional standard equipment, including full LED headlamps, a rearview camera, front and rear parking sensors, power-folding mirrors, blind spot monitoring, a 14-speaker Bang & Olufsen sound system and a navigation system. Note that these items are also available on the Premium Plus in a mix of individual options and smaller packages. Exclusive to the Prestige is the Advanced Technology package, which gets you adaptive cruise control, lane keeping assist and a collision mitigation system.

Both trim levels are eligible for 19-inch wheels, an adaptive suspension system and rear thorax airbags. All-season tires are available in place of the standard summer tires at no charge.

CarsDirect Tip

There's no difference in performance between the Premium Plus and costlier Prestige. Whether to upgrade depends mainly on how much technology you need and what you're willing to pay for it. The available adaptive suspension takes the S3's handling to an even higher level, but the tradeoff is a firm ride that can become harsh at times.
