2015 Cadillac CTS-V Overview

John Diether
Automotive Editor - February 3, 2015

The high-performance model in Cadillac's midsize CTS line, the current CTS-V is on its final lap through showrooms. If supercharged V8 power mixed with unrelenting style sounds good to you, the racy Cadillac will oblige while it lasts.

What's New for 2015

The wagon bodystyle has been discontinued, and the sedan is on hold until next year's restyle. The coupe goes it alone for now, offering a new Special Edition trim package.

Choosing Your CTS-V

For all its style and luxury appointments, the CTS-V is best known for the abundance of sheer power lurking under the hood. The supercharged 6.2-liter V8 serves up 556 horsepower and 551 pound-feet of torque, enough to make the rear-drive CTS-V seriously fast. Zero to 60 mph happens in about 4 seconds flat. A six-speed manual comes standard, but you can opt for a six-speed automatic at no cost.

The CTS-V's performance arsenal includes a magnetically controlled adaptive suspension, a limited-slip differential, beefy Brembo brakes and summer performance tires on 19-inch wheels. Those 19s are finished in your choice of satin graphite or polished aluminum. On the safety front, you get blind spot monitoring, rear parking sensors, a rearview camera, rain-sensing wipers and adaptive xenon headlamps with washers.

The interior receives leather and faux suede upholstery, heated RECARO sport seats with driver memory, an odor filtration system and a power-adjustable steering wheel. The standard navigation system features a pop-up touchscreen and real-time traffic and weather data. You also get a Bose surround-sound system with satellite radio, digital audio storage and DVD-playing capability. At this level of endowment, the only extra-cost option is a tilt-only sunroof.

The final 500 units, dubbed Special Edition, will feature unique trim throughout, including red brake calipers, a suede-wrapped steering wheel and dark grille treatment. The CTS-V Special Edition is expected to hit dealers by summer 2015.

CarsDirect Tip

If you're considering the Special Edition model, we recommend placing an order before it actually hits showrooms. With only 500 to go around, it will likely sell out in the blink of an eye.
