The 2015 Jeep Renegade is a radical vehicle for the storied off-road brand. It's the smallest modern Jeep by far, the first entry in the exploding subcompact SUV category and the first to be made in Italy alongside its Fiat 500X sibling.
What's New for 2015
The Renegade is all-new for 2015.
Choosing Your Jeep Renegade
The Renegade is a subcompact five-door crossover that Jeep offers in a mix of front-wheel and four-wheel drive configurations.
The base drivetrain is a 160-horsepower 1.4-liter turbo four and a six-speed manual transmission
A 184-horsepower 2.4-liter four-cylinder with a nine-speed automatic transmission is optional on lower trim levels and standard higher up.
It's important to note that the engine you choose determines the transmission type: There isn't an automatic option for the smaller engine, or a manual option for the larger engine.
You'll choose between four trim levels:
CarsDirect Tip
Most Renegades won't have an MSRP anywhere near its official $17,995 base price. Simply adding the 2.4-liter engine and nine-speed automatic, as most buyers will, adds $1,200 to the bottom line, and four-wheel drive is another $2,000. So choose the Latitude and a few options for your best value -- this will keep the sticker price around $25,000.
The Trailhawk is fun and the only way to go for those interested in using the Jeep's off-road abilities, but $33,000 fully loaded is a lot to spend when the same money can buy a base Grand Cherokee.
