The coupe version of Kia's popular compact sedan, the Forte Koup offers enhanced performance and features to complement its sporty looks. With available turbo power and high-end options, the two-door Forte can be an economical alternative to mainstream sport coupes.
What's New for 2015
Engines have been retuned for slightly better gas mileage.
Choosing Your Kia Forte Koup
The Koup is powered by a 2-liter four-cylinder with 173 horsepower, matched to either a six-speed manual or six-speed automatic transmission. It's the only model in the Forte lineup that can get a manual with this engine. Things gets more interesting with the available 1.6-liter turbo four-cylinder, which produces 201 horsepower and can be paired with either transmission.
All Koup models are well-equipped for their class, and the option packages add enough premium features to make the car seem downright luxurious.
The Koup is offered in two trim levels, each with its own engine:
EX
Comes with the 2-liter engine, plus power-folding heated mirrors, 16-inch alloy wheels, Bluetooth phone and audio, an adjustable-assist steering system, a chilled glove box and a 6-speaker sound system with satellite radio. From there, you can add Kia's Uvo eServices infotainment system, which includes a rearview camera. The next step up is the Premium package, which includes the Uvo system and a slew of luxury features: heated front and rear seats upholstered in leather, a sunroof, keyless ignition, a heated steering wheel, a ventilated driver seat and lighted door handles. The Technology package delivers all those features, plus a navigation system, xenon headlights and LED taillights, HD radio and additional Uvo functionality.
SX
Carries the turbocharged engine, 18-inch wheels, a sport-tuned suspension and more aggressive front and rear styling. The EX's option package are available here as well.
As usual for Kia, there are no individual options beyond various dealer-installed accessories.
Both trim levels give you access to the many high-end features available on the Koup. Whether to go with the EX or SX is solely a matter of your power needs.
