Priced from $37,995, the totally redesigned Land Rover Discovery Sport made its North American debut at this past year's Los Angeles Auto Show and showed off its modern styling to the masses.
Land Rover has dubbed the new Discovery Sport as the most versatile compact SUV on the market. And that's not far from the truth, as the newest model in Land Rover's 2015 model lineup does have the chops to actually go off road.
The U.S.-spec Discovery Sport is powered by the Range Rover Evoque's responsive 2.0L 4-cylinder turbo engine and produces a solid 240 hp and 250 ft-lbs of torque. To make that power and torque more usable, the Discovery Sport has been lightened by employing more aluminum in the vehicles' structure, including the roof, hood, front fenders and liftgate.
The well-isolated interior package features seating for seven, with the third row folding neatly into the trunk floor. It also features a new plush leather interior and over 17 color theme choices and with multiple wood veneer options. Jaguar/Land Rover’s new-generation navigation and infotainment interface are also incorporated.
