Nissan challenges the domestic automakers' long-standing hold on the commercial market with the NV, which is designed to be just as adaptable to hauling needs as the Big Three's models. And just like the domestic manufacturers, Nissan offers a passenger version.

What's New for 2015

For 2015, the NV gains the latest NissanConnect navigation system as an option.

Choosing Your Nissan NV3500 HD Passenger

The NV3500 Passenger van comes only as a standard roof model across three trim levels. Standard on the S and SV is a 4-liter 261-horsepower V6 that's mated to a five-speed automatic with rear-wheel drive. SL models get a standard 5.6-liter V8 with 317 horsepower that's optional on S and SV trims.

The base NV3500 includes features such as 17-inch wheels, seating for 12, split rear cargo doors, privacy glass, air conditioning, water-repellant cloth upholstery, a trip computer, 11 cupholders, a fold-down front passenger's seat, side curtain airbags and a four-speaker AM/FM radio with CD player and AUX jack. V8 models also include trailer towing prep. The Power Basic Package includes power windows, locks with remote keyless entry, and cruise control.

Available in a V6 or V8 engine option.

The mid-range SV adds features such as rear parking sensors, power windows, locks with remote keyless entry, cruise control, chrome-clad wheels, an 8-way power driver's seat and rear map lights. As on the S, the V8 is optional. Also available is a Technology Package that bundles navigation with NissanConnect apps, backup camera, SiriusXM satellite radio with traffic and TravelLink, USB input with iPod integration and Bluetooth hands-free and streaming audio.

Available in a V6 or V8 engine option.

The uplevel SL adds the V8 engine as well as a chrome grille, leather upholstery, dual-zone air conditioning system and Bluetooth hands-free. The Technology Package is optional.

CarsDirect Tip

An SV will represent the best compromise between necessities and comfort features for most customers, but an extra $2,600 for the added comforts of the SL isn't unreasonable.
