The xB comes in a single trim level. Power comes from a 2.4-liter four-cylinder with 158 horsepower and a five-speed manual transmission. A four-speed automatic is optional. Scion also includes scheduled maintenance for two years or 25,000 miles, and roadside assistance for two years.
The xB comes with features such as power windows, locks, mirrors and remote keyless entry. Cloth-upholstered sport seats are also standard, along with a driver's seat height adjuster and split-folding rear seat. The audio system is a six-speaker, 160-watt system with a 6.1-inch touchscreen that includes Bluetooth hands-free and audio streaming, USB connection, HD radio and steering wheel controls.
A navigation system and alloy wheels are on the short list of factory options. The real customization happens at the dealership, where buyers choose from an array of dealer-installed accessories.
An added benefit for buyers who dread the negotiation process is Scion's "Pure Price" policy. The price you see is the price you pay -- there's no need to haggle or wonder if you might have gotten a better deal.
The xB comes relatively well-equipped and, aside from the four-speed automatic, none of the accessories greatly affect performance. It makes more sense the cheaper it is.
