Expert Rating

4.5 (Excellent)
MPG
20 City / 26 Highway

Unlike other websites and magazines, our ratings are not based solely on a singular road test, but rather a more encompassing batch of criteria: quality, safety, comfort, performance, fuel economy, reliability history and value. When comparing vehicles using our Rating System, it's important to note that the rating earned by each vehicle correlates only to the models within its class. For example, a compact car cannot be compared to a SUV—They are different vehicles altogether.

You can interpret our ratings in the following way:

5-Star: Outstanding vehicle. Only the most exceptional vehicles achieve this rating.

4-Star: Very Good vehicle. Very good and close to being the best vehicle in its class.

3-Star: Good vehicle. Decent, but not quite the best. Often affordable, but lacking key features found in vehicles of the same class.

2-Star: Below average vehicle. Not recommended, and lacking attributes a car buyer would come to expect for the price.

1-Star: Poor vehicle. Simply does not deserve to be on the road.

2016 Buick Envision OVERVIEW

The all-new Envision crossover fits neatly between the subcompact Encore and seven-passenger Enclave in Buick's lineup. This three-model approach gives Buick more ground to compete in the upscale crossover market.

What's New for 2016

The Envision is brand new model.

Choosing Your Buick Envision

The Envision is a five-passenger crossover powered by a 2-liter turbocharged four cylinder engine with 252 horsepower. For its debut year, all models will be equipped with all-wheel drive, although front-drive version are expected for 2017. A six-speed automatic transmission and 19-inch wheels are also standard. The Envision achieves 22 mpg in combined city and highway driving, a 4 mpg improvement over the larger Enclave.

A full range of trim levels is coming for 2017, but for now the Envision is available only in top-shelf Premium I and Premium II guises:

Premium I

Carries a leather interior with heated front and rear seats, a power driver seat, Buick's IntelliLink infotainment interface, a Bose seven-speaker sound system, blind spot monitoring, front collision alert, and a rearview camera. Other standard goodies include a power hands-free tailgate, tri-zone climate control, and a heated steering wheel. The only major options for the Premium I are navigation and a panoramic sunroof.

Premium II

Gets the navigation system as standard, plus cooled front seats, a head-up display, adaptive headlamps, and front and rear parking sensors. Exclusive to this trim is the optional Driver Confidence package with adaptive cruise control, a surround-view camera system, and automatic collision-mitigation braking. The sunroof remains optional.

Both models are eligible for a variety of cargo-handling and interior protection options, as well as special bright-finish wheels.

CarsDirect Tip

Every Envision is heavily equipped this year and priced accordingly. If you'd rather exchange some of the Premium content for a lower price, we recommend waiting until the base and mid-level trims arrive for 2017.
