Every S7 is endowed with a turbocharged 4-liter V8 with 450 horsepower and a seven-speed automated manual transmission. You also get a sport-tuned adaptive air suspension and 19-inch wheels with summer performance tires. As expected in an Audi of this caliber, all-wheel drive and a selectable driving mode system are standard. The S7 plows from zero to 60 mph in a scant 4.3 seconds. For an even higher level of performance, you can select the Sport package with variable-ratio steering, sport exhaust, and a torque-vectoring rear differential for enhanced cornering.
The S7's four-person interior is done up in diamond-stitched leather and high-end features like four-zone climate control, a web-based navigation and infotainment system, and a 14-speaker Bose sound system with HD radio. A premium Bang & Olufsen surround-sound unit is optional. The available Individual Contour Seating package adds multicontour sport seats (in all four positions), ventilated and massaging front seats, and passenger memory settings. There's also a Cold Weather package with heated rear seats and a heated steering wheel.
For safety, you get a rearview camera, front and rear parking sensors, and a blind spot warning system—all standard. The Driver Assistance Plus package tacks on lane-keeping assist, automatic high beams, a surround-view camera system, active front collision mitigation, and adaptive cruise control. Infrared night vision with pedestrian detection is a standalone option.
The Black Optic package spruces up the exterior with body-color mirrors, gloss black trim, and unique 20- or 21-inch wheels.
Additional options include power soft-close doors, rear thorax airbags, and a black Alcantara (suede-like) headliner.
The S7 is obviously a fully equipped luxury-sport sedan from the start. That said, we do recommend the excellent Individual Contour Seating package ($1,950) if you intend to take you S7 on long trips now and then.
