Previously known as simply Acadia, GMC's original three-row crossover carries on as the Acadia Limited. With seating for up to eight and massive cargo space, this veteran player remains in demand, despite the arrival of an all-new Acadia this year.
What's New for 2017
The Acadia Limited is a continuation of last year's Acadia with more standard equipment and a revised name. The lineup has been condensed into a single trim level.
Choosing Your GMC Acadia Limited
Every Acadia Limited is powered by 3.6-liter V6 with 281 horsepower, matched to a six-speed automatic transmission. Front-wheel drive comes standard, and all-wheel drive is available for $2,000. So equipped, the Acadia Limited can tow up to 5,200 pounds, more than most vehicles in this class.
The Acadia Limited offers a legitimate third row where even adults can get comfortable. With a full crew aboard, cargo space is limited to 24.4 feet, but with the rows folded, you get a cavernous 116.3 cubic feet. Second-row captain's chairs are standard, and a no-cost bench is available for eight-passenger capacity.
Unlike in previous years, there are no trim levels to choose from. The Acadia Limited comes just one way: fully equipped. Every model gets leather upholstery, heated front seats with driver memory, a heated steering wheel, navigation, a premium Bose sound system, and a power tailgate. For safety, there's a head-up display, blind spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, front collision warning, and lane departure warning. The Limited rolls on 20-inch chrome wheels.
Major options are limited to a panoramic sunroof and a rear video entertainment system.
Although the swanky Denali model is gone, almost all of last year's options are now standard on the Acadia Limited. In fact, it carries more standard features than many luxury-branded crossovers. The base price has increased of course, but that's all you'll have to pay to get everything you could want.
