INFINITI's long-running compact crossover, the QX50 focuses more on performance than others of its ilk. With its powerful V6 and rear-drive architecture, it's definitely a crossover for buyers who consider themselves drivers rather than family chauffeurs.

2017 INFINITI QX50 Overview

What's New for 2017
Following last year's effective wheelbase stretch, the QX50 sees no changes except the addition of 19-inch wheels as a standalone option.
Choosing Your INFINITI QX50
Every QX50 comes with a 3.7-liter V6 engine and seven-speed automatic transmission. Rear-wheel drive is standard, and all-wheel drive can be added to any model for $1,800. The rear passenger compartment is far more accommodating than in pre-2016 models, so five passengers can ride in reasonable comfort. There's 18.6 cubic feet of cargo space behind the rear seat and 50.1 cubic-feet with it folded. That's on the small side of this class, but at least the load floor is virtually flat.
The QX50 is available in a single trim level with standard features like a sunroof, leather upholstery, heated power front seats, power heated side mirrors, a rearview camera, and a six-speaker sound system with satellite radio and Bluetooth phone. The only thing missing is a power tailgate, which isn't offered at all. The QX50 rolls on 18-inch alloy wheels.
Remaining features are grouped into four progressive option packages:
- Premium: Includes maple interior trim, an 11-speaker Bose sound system, driver memory, auto-dimming rearview mirrors, aluminum roof rails, a power-adjustable steering wheel, and an upgraded cabin air filtration system.
- Premium Plus: Adds front and rear parking sensors, navigation, Bluetooth audio, and a surround-view camera system.
- Deluxe Touring: Features power-folding (up and down) rear seats, expanded front seat controls, a hand-stitched instrument cluster hood, adaptive xenon headlamps, a coat hanger built into the back of the driver seat, and standard 19-inch wheels.
- Technology: Tops off the QX50 with adaptive cruise control, lane keeping assist, blind spot monitoring, and front collision warning.
Models equipped with the Premium or Premium Plus package are eligible for 19-inch wheels. Otherwise, there are no individual factory options for the QX50.
We wouldn't order a QX50 without the Premium package (a bargain at $700), if only to get the Bose system and beautiful maple interior trim. Keep in mind that packages must be added in sequence. For example, you can't add the Technology package until you've purchased every package below it.
