After seeing the facelift the 2016 Lincoln Navigator L has gone through, the 2017 models will take it a few steps further. The 2017 Lincoln Navigator adds to its luxurious past, making it one of the top competitors in the luxury SUV world.
What's New for 2017
Influenced by the Ford F-150, the 2017 Lincoln Navigator L features an aluminum platform, which is expected to reduce its weight by 700 pounds. The 2017 models will come with an upgraded, more luxurious interior, with differently designed seats, 30-way adjustable seats, and a large, easy to use interface. The exterior on the 2017 models feature an all-new grille, similar to the Bentley Betayga, and a new exterior body, which is similar to the clamshell Range Rover body. All around, the 2017 Navigator L will get a facelift to the facelift from 2016.
Choosing Your Lincoln Navigator L
The 2016 Lincoln Navigator L changed the original V8 engine to a successful EcoBoost turbocharged 3.5L V6 engine, and the 2017 models will keep that engine. The Lincoln Navigator is 14.9 inches longer than the regular Navigator, which adds to the storage area behind the third-row seats. If you fold the second and third seats, you will have a huge storage capacity of 128.2 cubic feet.
The 2017 EcoBoost turbocharged engine will use approximately 15 MPG in the city, and roughly 20 MPG on the highway. However, if you choose to purchase the four-wheel drive Navigator L, expect 15 MPG in the city, and 19 MPG on the open highway.
The 2017 Lincoln Navigator L is offered in two trim packages:
Starting at $65,560, the 2017 Lincoln Navigator L Select package is considered the standard package; however, its luxury makes it far from standard. This package offers heated front seats as well as heated second row seats. The Select models also feature a power lift gate and a power folding third row seat for more convenience. All 2017 Navigator L models come equipped with a navigation system, power adjustable pedals, and a THX ll sound system, which features 14 speakers all around the interior of the vehicle.
The Select package also offers the new-SYNC 3 interface, which is an upgrade from the original SYNC. The new SYNC 3 is considered to be more user-friendly, more sensitive to the touch, and all-around a simpler, more intelligent interface.
This trim level also comes with convenient and safety features such as, a rearview camera, parking sensors for both the front and the rear, and blind-spot sensors. Both trim-levels come with HID headlights. The Select package offers 20" aluminum polished wheels.
The 2017 Lincoln Navigator L's Reserve package offers everything that you would get in the Select package, plus a few added features. This package include more options for the interior colors, as well as luxurious wood trim. This model also comes with automatic running boards, which are offered in both black or chrome finishes. The Reserve package can also offer screens for the rear seats, a sunroof, and various 22" wheel finishes and styles. This package comes with a unique system called the Lincoln Drive Control, which offers three different modes for different suspension experiences. This trim-level starts at $73,650.
The major difference between the Select and the Reserve packages is the Lincoln Drive Control system. It's recommended you test drive a Navigator with and without it to see if it's worth the price difference for you. Many argue that it isn't worth the different in cost.
