A high-riding cousin to the CLA-Class coupe-sedan, the 2017 Mercedes-Benz GLA-Class is the German brand’s entry into the hotly contested sub-compact premium crossover ranks. That means small, turbocharged power, an approachable price, and just enough style and equipment to keep luxury consumers interested.
What's New for 2017
Small changes are the order of the day for the 2017 GLA-Class. Look for an updated infotainment screen and instrument cluster, standard AMG Dinamica trim on the GLA45 AMG, remote start, and a new Convenience Package. Mercedes is also including Android Auto integration.
Choosing Your Mercedes-Benz GLA-Class
The GLA-Class mirrors the CLA-Class, meaning buyers have the choice of two 2.0-liter, turbocharged engines, standard front-wheel drive or optional all-wheel drive, and a standard seven-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission.
Even the GLA’s option packages mimic the CLA’s. Its Driver Assistance, Premium, and Multimedia packages contain the same content (adaptive cruise control/lane-keeping assist, blind-spot monitoring/push-button start/heated front seats/satellite radio, and a COMAND infotainment and navigation system, respectively) for the same prices.
Unique to the GLA is a $1,400 Parking Assistance Package. This worthwhile group of toys includes a surround-view camera system and parallel park assist, as well as power-folding side mirrors.
