The Volvo V60 Cross Country claims the middle ground between wagon and SUV. Based on the V60 wagon, this all-wheel drive model features 7.9 inches of ground clearance, excellent standard cargo capacity, and a competent turbocharged four-cylinder engine.
What's New for 2017
Now in its third year, the 2017 V60 Cross Country continues with its standard Premier and available Platinum trims. The most significant change has to do with its powertrain. Gone is the previous turbocharged five-cylinder engine paired with a six-speed automatic transmission. In its place is a turbocharged four-cylinder engine paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission.
Choosing Your Volvo V60 Cross Country
All models are powered by a 2-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine making 240 horsepower and 258 pound-feet of torque. This vehicle makes an EPA-estimated 22 mpg in the city and 30 mpg on the highway, an improvement of 2 mpg over last year.
Providing room for five, this model offers highly supportive power-operated bucket seats up front and a split folding bench seat in the rear. The V60 Cross Country offers 43.8 cubic feet of cargo space.
Standard equipment for the 2017 V60 Cross Country includes 18-inch diamond cut alloy wheels, front skid plate, a rear spoiler, and dual tailpipes.
Five package options are available. A climate package ($1,550) brings in heated front and rear seats, heated windshield wiper nozzles, a heated steering wheel, and a heated windshield. You can also order the climate package with two outboard positioned child booster seats for the same price. The booster seats replaced the rear heated seats.
A $1,500 convenience package brings in a rear park assist camera, keyless drive, and a cargo net. The $1,500 technology package represents such safety upgrades as adaptive cruise control, active high beams, distance alert, collision warning with full auto brake, pedestrian cyclist detection, and lane departure warning.
The available $925 BLIS package adds a blind spot information system and cross traffic alert, front park assist, and lane change merge aid.
Volvo prices the 2017 V60 Cross Country T5 AWD from $42,695 (destination included). All the standard features mentioned are included. Safety features include hill descent control, hill start assist, brake assist, LED daytime running lights, and rear fog lights.
