If a fuel-efficient minivan is on your radar, the 2019 Chrysler Pacifica Hybrid should be near the top of your list. Packed with advanced safety features, and boasting 32 miles of all-electric range, this hybrid minivan is a comfortable and efficient option.

What's New for 2019

Chrysler made significant changes to the Pacifica Hybrid in 2018. As the new year approaches, the 2019 Chrysler Pacifica receives minor enhancements, mainly to appearance packages. The S appearance Package offers 18-inch wheels, gloss black accents, and an all-black interior. The Touring L trim receives a standard heated steering wheel, while the Limited trim gains standard 17-inch polished wheels.

Choosing Your Chrysler Pacifica Hybrid

The 2019 Chrysler Pacifica Hybrid is available in three trims: Touring Plus, Touring L, and Limited. Each receives power from a 3.6-liter V6 engine paired with dual electric motors that belt out a combined 260 horsepower. This powerplant is paired with a single input electrically variable transmission. The Pacifica Hybrid boasts a total range of 520 miles, an all-electric range of 32 miles, and an EPA-estimated 30 miles per gallon combined.

Unlike its gasoline-only siblings, the Pacifica Hybrid features dual bucket seats in the second row, reducing total capacity to only seven passengers. Another item to consider is that due to the excessive size and weight of hybrid batteries, this minivan doesn't have a towing capacity. The hybrid also doesn't include a spare tire or the traditional Chrysler Stow ‘n Vac integrated vacuum system. If those items are important to you, then a traditional Pacifica should be considered. The Pacifica Hybrid’s batteries can be recharged via the four-wheel charging system or a plug-in charging port.

Touring Plus

The Pacifica Hybrid Touring Plus is the base version and starts at $41,390 (all prices include the $1,395 destination charge). It's well equipped for a base model, with standard features that include an 8.4-inch touchscreen infotainment screen that displays a rearview camera and powers a six-speaker audio system. The entertainment system is compatible with Bluetooth, Android Auto, and Apple CarPlay. A seven-inch driver information display, push-button start, three-zone automatic climate control, and a 60/40-split third row are also included. This trim also features 17-inch alloy wheels, automatic halogen headlights, blind-spot monitoring, rear parking sensors, and rear cross-traffic alert.

The S Appearance Package ($795) adds 18-inch painted wheels, second-row window shades, and black exterior appointments. Those in colder climates may want to consider the Cold Weather Group ($495) which upgrades the Touring Plus with heated front seats, a heated steering wheel, and a remote starting system.

Touring L

For a starting price of $43,390, consumers can opt for the Touring L, which adds heated front seats, an upgraded floor console, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, and a remote starting system. It also features perforated and leather-trimmed seats, rear grocery bag hooks on the third-row seats, a power liftgate, and a universal garage door opener.

The Touring L is also available with the S Appearance Package ($795) and a Premium Audio Group ($695) that adds a 13-speaker Alpine sound system, a 506-watt amplifier, active noise control, a power eight-way passenger seat with lumbar adjust, and second- and third-row USB charging ports.

The range-topping Pacifica Hybrid is the Limited, which costs $46,790. The Limited takes opulence to a higher level, featuring Nappa leather-trimmed, heated, and ventilated seats, a hands-free power sliding door and liftgate, integrated turn signals on the side mirrors, and a robust center console between the front seats. The Limited Pacifica doesn’t stop there, also adding a 20-speaker Harmon Kardon sound system, a rear-seat entertainment suite that adds dual 10-inch monitors, a DVD/Blu-Ray player, USB and HDMI video ports, a video remote control, a 115-volt power outlet, and wireless headphones.

The S Appearance Packages returns for $795, while the Advanced SafetyTec Group ($995) features automatic high beams, a surround-view camera system, front and rear parking assist with parallel and perpendicular parking assist, adaptive cruise control, automatic emergency braking, forward collision warning, lane departure warning, and rain-sensing windshield wipers.

CarsDirect Tip

While the 2019 Chrysler Pacifica Hybrid is a good value, it's priced nearly $15,000 above its gasoline-powered counterparts. Consumers should carefully consider whether the standard or hybrid powerplant is best suited for their individual needs, as standard Pacificas are just as impressive, without the premium cost for hybrid technology.
