2020 Audi SQ5 Overview
Choosing Your Audi SQ5
The Audi SQ5 is available in the three typical Audi trim levels: Premium, Premium Plus, and Prestige. Pricing starts at $53,895 including destination for the Premium and reaches $61,645 for the Prestige.
There’s only one engine available in the SQ5: a 3.0-liter turbocharged V6 that makes 349 horsepower and 369 pound-feet of torque. It's paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission and Audi's quattro all-wheel-drive system is standard.
The SQ5 earns an EPA-estimated 18 miles per gallon city, 23 mpg highway, and 20 combined. It has a 4,400-pound towing capacity and gets from 0-60 mph in 5.1 seconds.
Passenger and Cargo Capacity
The Audi SQ5 seats five passengers and offers 25.1 cubic feet of cargo volume with the rear seat in place. This expands to 53.1 cubic when it's folded down.
The SQ5 disappoints when it comes to standard active safety features, with only automatic emergency braking, forward collision warning, and automatic high beams to show.
However, a no-cost Convenience Package is available on the base Premium trim and standard elsewhere that adds blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, and vehicle exit warning. Front and rear parking sensors are available through the Convenience Plus Package ($750) on the Premium and are standard elsewhere.
On the Premium Plus, adaptive cruise control, traffic jam assist, and lane keeping assist are bundled in the Driver Assistance Package ($1,500). These features plus a head-up display, traffic sign recognition, and an automated parking system are standard on the Prestige trim.
Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are integrated into the 7-inch voice-controlled infotainment display. Bluetooth, HD radio, and two front USB ports are included.
The Premium Plus and Prestige are equipped with an 8.3-inch display with navigation and satellite radio. Wireless charging is also included.
Premium - From $53,895
The SQ5 Premium trim lives up to its name with leather seating surfaces, three-zone automatic climate control, push-button start, and heated and eight-way power front seats. LED headlights and taillights, 20-inch wheels, and heated side mirrors are also standard.
There's no reason to not tick the box for the free Convenience Package, which bundles keyless entry, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, satellite radio, memory for the driver's seat, and auto-dimming and power-folding side mirrors. A panoramic sunroof is a $1,450 standalone option.
Premium Plus - From $57,895
The Premium Plus trim package receives the sunroof, 8.3-inch infotainment system, navigation, wireless charging, and a 12.3-inch driver information display. This LCD virtual cockpit can be customized and used to display information from the infotainment system.
This trim aims to please no matter which type of climate you live in. The Cold Weather Package ($750) brings heated rear seats, a heated steering wheel, and all-weather floor mats, while the Warm Weather Package ($950) adds ventilated front seats and rear window sunshades.
The $3,000 S Sport Package combines adaptive air suspension, a rear differential, and red brake calipers.
Prestige - From $63,145
Buyers of the SQ5 Prestige package are unlikely to want to raid the options list, since high-end features like adaptive cruise control, lane keeping assist, a 19-speaker Bang and Olufsen audio system, and a head-up display come standard.
Although the features of 2020 Audi SQ5 Premium Plus and Prestige are tempting, the most affordable Premium trim will suit most buyers.
