Update: An INFINITI spokesperson has confirmed that production has been discontinued and there are no plans for a replacement beyond 2019.
The future of the INFINITI QX30 appears to be in doubt. According to a report by Motor Authority, INFINITI's incoming president has gone on record to say that the QX30 isn't expected to live past its current generation. Although we don't yet have a timeframe for when the vehicle will be discontinued, it's possible that it could happen sooner rather than later.
Sales of the QX30 have suffered greatly even as demand for luxury crossovers has risen over the past several years. Most recently, INFINITI posted a 42.5% drop in QX30 yearly sales from 14,093 in 2017 to just 8,101 in 2018. For comparison, the brand sold over 25,000 QX50s and 47,000 QX60s during the same period.
Poor sales haven't exactly translated to big savings for consumers. Although the QX30 used to rank among the cheapest luxury SUVs to lease, that hasn't been the case for months. Discounts have fallen considerably over the past year, and we generally haven't seen any sort of advantage over competitors like the BMW X1.
