The Kia Niro Plug-In Hybrid is one of three vehicles in the electrified Niro family. As it was first introduced in 2017, the 2020 Niro PHEV to be a carryover model with virtually no changes.
The 2020 Niro PHEV will carry on with its 1.6-liter engine combined with a plug-in hybrid electric motor paired with a 6-speed dual-clutch transmission. This motor is capable of 139 horsepower and 195 lb-ft of torque. In terms of fuel efficiency, the Niro can get up to 26 miles of all-electric range and up to 534 miles on the gasoline engine.
The 2020 Niro Plug-In hybrid missed out on a Top Safety Pick Award from the IIHS due to poor headlights. That said, it scored well in crash tests and comes standard with automatic emergency braking and blind spot monitors.
We expect the 2020 Kia Niro PHEV to arrive at dealers soon.
