2021 Acura NSX Overview
Choosing Your Acura NSX
The 2021 NSX comes in a single trim level, priced from $159,495 including destination.
Every NSX features a hybrid powerplant consisting of a twin-turbo 3.5-liter V6 engine and three electric motors. The V6 and one electric motor power the rear wheels, while each front wheel has its own motor.
This setup effectively makes the NSX all-wheel drive. Total output comes to 573 horsepower and 476 lb-ft of torque. A nine-speed automatic transmission with launch control does the shifting.
Drivers have a choice of three driving modes: Quiet, Sport, Sport Plus, and Track. According to Acura, the NSX can scoot from zero to 60 mph in just 2.7 seconds and reach a top speed of 191 mph.
Efficiency is outstanding for a car with such performance potential. According to EPA fuel economy estimates, the NSX manages 21 miles per gallon city, 22 mpg highway, and 21 mpg combined.
Passenger and Cargo Capacity
The NSX is a two-seat, mid-engine sports car with ample room for the driver and passenger. However, the trunk measures 4.4 cubic feet, just enough for two pieces of soft luggage.
Like some other track-focused cars, the NSX is light on driver assistance technology. Besides the federally mandated rearview camera, buyers get nothing more than front and rear parking sensors.
The NSX does much better in the infotainment department with standard features like a 7-inch touchscreen, navigation, HD radio, two USB ports, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto integration, and a nine-speaker ELS Studio sound system. Satellite radio is a $500 standalone option.
The NSX carries the requisite hardware for this class, including an adaptive performance suspension, Brembo brakes, a limited slip differential, and staggered 19- and 20-inch wheels. Carbon-ceramic brakes ($9,900) are the only major performance upgrade. Alternate wheels designs are available for $1,500.
Other features include heated power sport seats with memory, ambient LED interior lighting, acoustic rear glass, LED headlights, heated power side mirrors with reverse tilt down, a universal home remote, and an auto-dimming rearview mirror. Seats are clad in semi-aniline leather with sueded inserts. Full leather seats are available for $1,000. Acura also offers manual seats in Milano leather and suede as a no-cost option.
The Carbon Fiber Interior Sport Package ($2,500) adds a carbon fiber steering wheel and gauge hood. For $9,000, the Carbon Fiber Exterior Sport Package furnishes carbon fiber body components. A carbon fiber engine cover can be added to the package for $3,600.
The 2021 Acura NSX is a low-production model, even for this class. Chances are you'll have to place a factory order and wait for delivery, but at least that gives you the opportunity to build out your NSX exactly how you want.
