The 2021 Maserati Levante takes on more standard equipment this year, including soft-close doors, a heated sport steering wheel, and a panoramic sunroof. The Levante debuted in 2016. A total redesign is scheduled for 2023.

2021 Maserati Levante Overview
Choosing Your Maserati Levante
The Levante is available in four trim levels: Levante, S, GTS, and Trofeo. Pricing starts at $77,890 including destination for the base model and goes all the way up to $152,690 for the Trofeo.
The Levante starts out with a twin-turbocharged V6 engine. A high-output variant of the V6 is used in the Levante S. The GTS and Trofeo carry a twin-turbo V8, with the Trofeo getting a souped-up version.
|Engine Type||Trim Level||Horsepower||Torque||Fuel Economy (Combined)|
|3.0L Twin-Turbo V6||Levante||345 hp||369 lb-ft||18 mpg|
|3.0L Twin-Turbo V6||S||424 hp||428 lb-ft||18 mpg|
|3.8L Twin-Turbo V8||GTS||550 hp||538 lb-ft||16 mpg|
|3.8L Twin-Turbo V8||Trofeo||590 hp||538 lb-ft||16 mpg|
Every Levante comes with all-wheel drive and an eight-speed automatic transmission.
Passenger and Cargo Capacity
The Maserati Levante is a midsize crossover with room for five passengers, although the rear center seat is barely habitable.
The cargo area measures 20.5 cubic feet, or 57.4 with the rear seat folded. As these numbers suggest, the Levante more about luxury and performance than sheer utility.
The Levante comes standard with automatic high beams, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, and front and rear parking sensors.
The $1,700 Driver Assistance Package for the Levante and S furnishes adaptive cruise control, lane keeping assist, a surround-view camera, forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking, and traffic sign recognition. The bundle is standard on GTS and Trofeo, as well as the Granlusso and Gransport equipment groups available on the two lower trims.
The standard infotainment system offers an 8.4-inch infotainment touchscreen, navigation, eight audio speakers, SiriusXM satellite radio, a pair of USB ports, and Apple Car Play and Android Auto compatibility.
A 14-speaker Harman Kardon sound system is optional ($1,100) on the base Levante and S. It's standard on all subsequent trims, while a 17-speaker Bowers and Wilkins audio system is available for $2,100.
As expected, the Levante comes luxuriously equipped from the start. The base price includes leather upholstery, heated and 12-way power front seats with driver memory, a heated steering wheel, remote start, a panoramic sunroof, bi-xenon headlights, and a power liftgate. The Levante rolls on an adaptive air suspension and 19-inch aluminum wheels.
The $450 Climate Package adds heated rear seats and heated washer nozzles. An extended perforated leather interior with ventilated front seats costs $3,500. Four-zone climate control is a standalone option priced at $1,100.
The GT Sport Package ($3,490) livens up the exterior with black trim front and rear fascia trim, 21-inch machine-polished wheels, and gloss red brake calipers. Another choice is the Nerissimo Package ($2,900), which provides all-black exterior trim and dark gray 20-inch wheels.
The Levante in Granlusso guise ($83,890) carries an exclusive silk and leather interior with open-pore wood trim and standard ventilated front seats. The exterior receives adaptive LED headlights, body-color side skirts, and a unique rear spoiler. Also priced at $83,890, the Gransport equipment group brings 20-inch wheels, front sport seats, the gloss red calipers, and its own spoiler design.
The S carries the 424-hp version of the twin-turbo V6, plus paddle shifters and extended leather interior trim. Option packages are shared with the base Levante, although the Nerissimo Package costs only $1,100 here.
The Granlusso and Gransport trims remain available, both priced at $93,890.
The GTS gets a major performance boost from the 550-hp twin-turbo V8. It also comes with upgraded instrumentation and standard ventilated front sports and heated rear seats.
The Nerissimo Package is the only major option package left – and it's available on the GTS at no cost.
The track-ready Trofeo packs the 590-hp twin-turbo V8, plus larger brakes, carbon-fiber body components, summer performance tires, and 21-inch wheels. The interior is trimmed in Pieno Fiore leather and high-gloss carbon fiber.
At this level of luxury and performance, buyers have just one option to consider: four-zone climate control ($1,100).
The 2021 Maserati Levante S provides thrilling performance while staying realistic about ambitions and budgets. The GTS and especially the Trofeo are for the unbridled set, and not too many of them are looking for a crossover.
