Mitsubishi announced several upcoming design changes for its lineup as they are heavily investing in upgrading and revising their offerings in the U.S. market. The 2021 Mitsubishi Mirage will be one of the first to receive this updated styling.
The Mirage is one of the few small car offerings available as many options like the Honda Fit, Chevy Sonic, and Toyota Yaris have all been discontinued for the 2021 model year. Although most consumers are moving away from the segment, updated styling and more available technology could help the Mirage stay fresh.
Mitsubishi hasn’t announced any powertrain updates as of now. For reference the 2020 Mirage is available with only one engine choice: a 1.2-liter 3-cylinder rated at 78 horsepower and 74 lb-ft of torque. As far as safety is concerned, we expect the Mirage to carry on as one of the most affordable vehicles with standard automatic emergency braking.
