The 2021 Porsche 718 Cayman carries more standard features this year, including dual-zone automatic climate control, heated seats, auto-dimming side mirrors, adaptive headlights, and Apple CarPlay. The new GTS 4.0 brings provides six-cylinder power at a lower entry price.

The current 718 Cayman first hit the streets in 2017.

The 718 Cayman is available in five trim levels: Cayman, Cayman T, Cayman S, GTS 4.0, and GT4. Pricing starts at $61,250 including destination for the base model and tops out at $101,550 for the GT4.

The Cayman and T are powered by 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine. The S gets a more powerful 2.5-liter turbo-four. A six-cylinder engine is used in GTS 4.0, and the GT4 carries a high-output version of the same.

Every engine comes standard with rear-wheel drive and a six-speed manual transmission. A seven-speed dual clutch automatic is available for $3,210 on the Cayman, S, and GT4, or $3,750 on the T and GTS 4.0.

The 718 Cayman is a two-seat sports car with a mid-engine layout. Cargo space is split between front and rear trunks, totaling 14.9 cubic feet. That's surprisingly good for this class of car.

Every 718 Cayman comes with front and rear parking sensors, but everything else optional.

Blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert costs $700. On models equipped with the automatic transmission, buyers can tick the box for a bundle that includes adaptive cruise control, forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking for $1,670.

The Cayman comes standard with a 7-inch touchscreen, an eight-speaker audio system, HD radio, satellite radio, two USB ports, 11 gigabytes of audio storage, and Apple CarPlay compatibility.

Navigation can be added $2,320, and a wireless charger is a $560 option. Two surround-sound audio systems are offered: a 10-speaker Bose setup ($990) and a Burmester with 12 speakers ($4,690).

The 718 Boxster carries partial leather sport seats with power recline, dual-zone automatic climate control, adaptive bi-xenon headlights, LED taillights, a power soft top, and summer performance tires on 18-inch alloy wheels.

Fully powered 14-way seats with driver memory cost $2,330. The upgraded seating package, called Sport Seats Plus, offers full leather and extra side bolstering for $810 with the standard power recline, or $3,830 with 18-way power and driver memory added.

The Premium Package ($4,140) furnishes ventilated seats, a heated steering wheel, power-folding side mirrors, LED headlights, proximity key access, blind-spot monitoring, and the Bose audio system

As for performance, Porsche offers a lowered adaptive suspension for $1,790, and a torque-vectoring system with a locking differential for $1,320. The Sport Chrono Package adds a Sport Plus driving mode and analog stopwatch for $2,090.

The Cayman T comes standard with the lowered suspension, torque vectoring, and the Sport Chrono Package. A specially tuned exhaust system and 20-inch wheels complete the performance upgrades.

The Sport Seats Plus package is standard, and lightweight racing seats are available for $5,900.

The Cayman S gets the 2.5-liter engine, plus red brake calipers and 19-inch wheels. Other equipment and options are shared with the standard Cayman.

The newest Cayman model combines the performance upgrades of the T with the 4.0-liter six-cylinder engine. Porsche says the GTS 4.0 can go from 0-60 mph in 3.8 seconds.

The GT4 goes a step beyond the GTS with the 414-hp six-cylinder and aerodynamic body enhancements. The seats and steering wheel are clad in sueded fabric for improved grip. In the interest of saving weight, some non-performance features revert to option status or aren't offered at all.

Buyers can, however, get a set of ceramic brakes for $8,000.
