The Buick Envision arrives for 2022 following last year's full redesign with a few changes. For the new model year, Buick has updated the available Sport Touring package. It now comes with alloy sport pedals and an “ST” logo that’s embroidered on the front headrests and floor mats. Other minor changes include a new Sapphire Metallic paint job and red stitching on the Essence trim.
The current-gen Envision came out in 2021 as a fully redesigned SUV. The compact luxury SUV arrived with a striking design to be more competitive in the popular segment. Sharp headlights, angular air intakes, a ridged hood, and a slim hexagon grille give the current Envision a sharper design than before. Slim taillights, a round liftgate, and exhaust outlets that are integrated into the rear bumper make the Envision’s rear end look sporty. We expect the 2022 Buick Envision to retain the same overall design as the current model.
While the current Envision’s exterior is sporty, the cabin features a clean, simple design. The 2022 Buick Envision will continue to share the same interior design as the current model. The dashboard is canted toward the driver to make the central display easier to access. The Envision comes with high-quality materials for the class, though the Avenir trim is the standout luxury choice with materials that match options from BMW, Mercedes-Benz, and Audi. Cargo space in the Envision is competitive for the class, as the compact SUV has 25.2 cubic feet of cargo space behind the rear seats and a total of 52.7 cubic feet of cargo space.
The standard Envision comes with an 8-inch touchscreen, while every other trim has a 10.2-inch touchscreen. Standard features include six audio speakers, satellite radio, as well as wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Navigation, wireless smartphone charging, an HD radio, and a Bose audio system are optional. These features will continue to be offered on the 2022 Envision.
Buick offers quite a few standard safety features on the current Envision, but saves a few features for the range-topping Avenir. Standard safety features include forward collision warning, pedestrian detection, automatic emergency braking, lane-keeping assist, lane departure warning, and rear cross-traffic alert. Optional safety features include adaptive cruise control, a head-up display, a surround-view parking camera, along with parallel and perpendicular park assist. The 2022 Envision will come with the same list of standard and available features.
Every Envision comes with a turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine that makes 228 horsepower and 258 pound-feet of torque. A nine-speed automatic transmission is standard. The four-cylinder engine routes power to the front wheel as standard, with all-wheel drive being offered as an option. The powertrain will carry over unchanged for the 2022 model year.
