The Chevrolet Silverado 1500 Limited is expected to be a carryover of the current Silverado for the 2022 model year. Like the 2022 GMC Sierra 1500 Limited, the truck will reportedly have a short model year as GM prepares to build an updated 2022 Silverado and Sierra 1500.
According to GM Authority, the Silverado 1500 Limited will begin production in late September of 2021. Based on our analysis, that could point to a release date sometime in November or December. A timeframe for the refreshed Silverado has not yet been announced as of this writing.
While it may seem odd for Chevy to sell a new and old version of a model at the same time, it wouldn't be the first time it has done so.
A few years ago, the brand sold the Silverado 1500 LD for just a single model year. Simultaneously, Chevy sold the redesigned 2019 Silverado. Oddly enough, differences in packaging meant the LD wasn't more affordable than a similarly equipped Silverado.
Unfortunately, we don't know what the differences will be between the Silverado Limited and the regular Silverado. We expect to know more closer to the truck's anticipated launch date later this year.
This page will be updated as information becomes available.
