What's New
The 2022 Chrysler Pacifica gains the availability of Amazon Fire TV, an enhanced standard air filtration system, and a rear-seat reminder while The Hybrid is no longer offered in the base Touring trim.
Choosing Your Chrysler Pacifica
The Pacifica is available in 4 trims, the Touring, Touring L, Limited, and Pinnacle, and base prices range from $38,690 to 55,640. The Pacifica Hybrid qualifies for a $7,500 federal tax credit.
Engine Choices
The gas-powered-only Pacifica is equipped with a 3.6-liter V6 engine that produces 287 horsepower and 262 pound-feet of torque, a nine-speed automatic transmission, and front-wheel drive while an all-wheel-drive system is available for $2,995 on the Touring, Limited, and Pinnacle trims.
The plug-in hybrid versions of the Pacifica trim cost between $4,005 and $5,250 depending on trim level and it combines a two-motor electric drive system, an efficiently-tuned 3.6-liter V6 (260 horsepower), and a continuously variable transmission. It is available with front-wheel drive only.
The gas-only front-wheel-drive models achieve an EPA-estimated 19 miles per gallon city, 28 mpg highway, and 22 combined. The all-wheel-drive system reduces those figures by 2, 3, and 2 respectively. The plug-in hybrid delivers 32 miles of electric-only driving and 30 mpg when acting as a hybrid.
Passenger and Cargo Capacity
The Pacifica seats seven passengers and stretches to 204 inches in length, within an inch of the Kia Carnival, Honda Odyssey, and Toyota Siena. The interior is large and the second-row seats can fold into the floor (not on the Hybrid), and the third-row passengers are offered 39 inches of legroom which is more than many crossovers. The interior can swallow 32.3 cubic feet behind the third row, 87.5 cubic feet with the second row folded, and 140.5 cubic feet with both rows folded into the floor.
Safety Features
The Pacifica includes automatic emergency braking with pedestrian detection, blind-spot monitoring, adaptive cruise control, lane-keep assist, forward and reverse low-speed automatic braking, and rear cross-traffic alert. A surround-view camera and parking assist are included in the Touring L trim and above.
The Pacifica is a 2022 Top Safety Pick+, earns Good crashworthiness ratings, an average headlight rating, a superior front vehicle collision rating, an advanced rating for pedestrian collision from the IIHS, and a five-star rating from NHTSA.
Connectivity
The Pacifica uses Chrysler’s latest infotainment system, controlled through a 10.1-inch touchscreen, and is compatible with Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, built-in Alexa, SiriusXM with 360L, and a dual-phone Bluetooth system. A new-for 2022 option is Amazon Fire TV that is offered on the Touring L and Limited trims standard on the Pinnacle trim via the Uconnect Theater Family Group which also includes two second-row-facing displays, HDMI inputs, a Blueray-DVD player, and navigation.
