The GMC Sierra 1500 Limited is expected to return for the 2022 model year. Although it may sound like a trim level or possibly an all-new truck, it will reportedly be a continuation of the current Sierra pickup as GM prepared to unveil a refreshed model for next year.
Production of the 2022 Sierra 1500 Limited is due to start this September, which could translate to a release date in November or early December. Full specs and engine details haven't been released but could line up closely with the current Sierra pickup.
Back in 2019, GMC introduced the Limited for just a single year. Offered in just a double cab configuration, the pickup was sold alongside the redesigned 2019 Sierra and even had different pricing & incentives. There were also significant differences in packaging.
Shoppers should be aware that Chevy is said to be planning to offer a Silverado 1500 Limited for a shortened model year. It will reportedly be a version of the current truck as the brand prepares to manufacture an updated Silverado for the coming year.
