The Honda Odyssey last arrived as a fully redesigned model in 2018, but the minivan received a refresh for the 2021 model year. With its recent refresh, we expect the 2022 Honda Odyssey to be a carryover model.
When Honda refreshed the Odyssey for 2021, it introduced a sleeker grille and sharper headlights, making the minivan look more upscale than before. Tweaks were also made to the current Odyssey’s rear liftgate, but the C-shaped taillights and center trim piece that connect the two lights went untouched. With such a recent refresh, we expect the exterior design for the 2022 Odyssey to remain similar to the current model’s.
Practicality will continue to take the front seat with the 2022 Odyssey. With a push-button shifter, the minivan currently offers a spacious cabin with an uncluttered look for the center console. Dials and well-labeled buttons are located in convenient spots, while fold-flat second-row seats were a recent addition. The overall design of the 2022 Odyssey will carry over from the current model.
On top of a 5-inch display, the current Odyssey also comes with Bluetooth, two USB ports, and a seven-speaker audio system as standard. A larger 8-inch touchscreen, Android Auto, Apple CarPlay, wireless smartphone charging, Wi-Fi hot spot, navigation, and an 11-speaker audio system are optional. Tech features should go unchanged for the 2022 model year.
The 2022 Odyssey is expected to come with a 3.5-liter V6 engine. The motor will produce 280 horsepower and 262 pound-feet of torque. A 10-speed automatic transmission and front-wheel drive are included with the powertrain.
The current Odyssey comes with a long list of standard safety features that include Honda Sensing. Adaptive cruise control, lane keeping assist, forward collision warning, lane departure warning, pedestrian detection, automatic emergency braking, and traffic sign recognition are standard. In crash tests, the IIHS named the current Odyssey a Top Safety Pick+, while the minivan earned a five-star overall safety rating.
