Model Preview
After having only been redesigned in 2019, the Mercedes-Benz G-Class is expected to be a carryover for the 2022 model year. Mercedes-Benz hasn’t yet released any updated specs, but features that were new for 2021, such as a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster standard on all models and the G63 models getting wireless device charging standard, is expected in the 2022 models.
Both G-Class models use a twin-turbo 4.0-liter V8 engine. The G550 sees 416 horsepower and 450 pound-feet of torque, and the G63 sees 577 horsepower and 627 pound-feet of torque. The G63 pulls out more power with a handcrafted AMG version of the engine which draws out 161 more horsepower than the G550. Both models use a nine-speed automatic transmission and come with all-wheel drive.
Standard active-safety features include automatic emergency braking, active lane control, a driver attention monitor, adaptive cruise control, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, rearview camera, active parking assist, and so much more. We expect to see all of these features in the 2022 models.
The 2021 models have standard infotainment features such as a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster and a 12.3-inch central display screen that gives the impression of a single 25-inch screen. Also standard is a 15-speaker Burmester audio system, Bluetooth connectivity, integrated Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, navigation, enhanced voice control, and more. Wi-Fi hotspot is optional. We expect to see the same features carried over to the 2022 models.

Pricing starts at $134,300 including a $1,050 destination charge.
