Model Preview
The Mercedes-Benz Metris-Class is designed mostly for commercial use. The midsize van was updated for the 2021 model year and saw updates to the automatic transmission, a redesigned grille, a larger touchscreen with a multitude of infotainment options, and introduced for the first time was adaptive cruise control and a rearview camera mirror. The Metris is a carryover for 2022.
The engine on every Metris is a 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine that produces 208 horsepower and 258 lb-ft of torque. A new nine-speed automatic transmission with paddle shifters was introduced last model year and carries over to the current model.
The Metris comes as either a cargo van or a passenger van. Standard safety features on the cargo van include Crosswind Assist, Load-Adaptive Electronic Stability Program, Attention Assist, Hill-Start Assist, Collision Prevention Assist, and a rearview camera. Blind-Spot Assist is available as an option for an extra $1,352 on the cargo van. Standard safety features on the passenger van are the same as the cargo van, but Lane-Keeping Assist and Blind-Spot Assist can be added as options as part of the Safety Package for an extra $1,912.
All Mercedes-Benz Metris-Class vans are equipped with a 7-inch touchscreen with integrated Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. On the passenger van, navigation with voice command and live traffic is optional. As part of the optional Navigation system, Mercedes-Benz's Communication Module connectivity service utilizes a built-in SIM card for LTE internet connection used for the Emergency Call System.
The Mercedes-Benz Metris-Class cargo and passenger vans are available at dealerships now or can be specially ordered.
Pricing starts at $35,215 for the base 126" wheelbase cargo van and $38,845 for the base passenger van. Pricing includes destination.
