The Acura RDX received a small redesign that included updated exterior styling, new technology features, retuned drive modes, and revised suspension for the 2022 model year. Because of this, we expect the 2023 Acura RDX to be a carryover vehicle.
For 2022, Acura updated the RDX’s exterior design to make the compact SUV match the midsize MDX. To give the RDX a familial look, the compact SUV wears a new textured grille, rectangular exhaust tips, and a wide front air intake. The SUV also receives new wheel designs and larger 19-inch wheels as standard. The changes highlight the RDX’s sporty look with its sharp lines and prominent body lines. The 2023 Acura RDX should have the same overall exterior design as a carryover model.
The current RDX has an equally sporty interior design as the exterior, which we should expect to stay the same for the 2023 model year. The SUV has a V-shaped center console that houses all of the RDX’s controls. The center console is cluttered, having controls for the HVAC system, infotainment system, drive modes, and transmission. Flowing lines, clear gauges, and a chunky steering wheel are some sporty elements on the inside.
As a carryover model, the 2023 RDX should have the same tech features as the current model that’s on sale. We expect a 10.2-inch display, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, Bluetooth, nine audio speakers, a Wi-Fi hot spot, three USB ports, and a touchpad controller to be standard. Available features should include 16 audio speakers, a wireless charging pad, and navigation.
Acura offers the current RDX with a turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine that makes 272 horsepower and 280 pound-feet of torque. A 10-speed automatic transmission is standard. The RDX comes with front-wheel drive; all-wheel drive is available as an option.
The current RDX that’s on sale comes with the AcuraWatch suite of advanced safety features as standard equipment. The suite includes forward-collision warning, automatic emergency braking, lane-keeping assist, lane departure warning, traffic sign recognition, and adaptive cruise control. Available features include a surround-view parking camera and parking sensors. We expect these safety features to continue to be offered on the 2023 RDX.
