What's New
The 2023 Cadillac XT4 receives the usual exterior color updates. We expected a refresh of the small luxury crossover this year, but Cadillac has apparently postponed significant changes.
Choosing Your Cadillac XT4
The 2023 Cadillac XT4 continues in three trim levels: Luxury, Premium Luxury, and Sport. Pricing starts at $37,490 including destination and goes to $41,990 for the Sport before options.
Engine Choices
Every 2023 Cadillac XT4 carries a turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine that produces 237 horsepower and 258 pound-feet of torque. A nine-speed automatic transmission with paddle shifters and front-wheel drive are standard. All-wheel drive is available on all trims for $2,500.
The XT4 is EPA-rated at 24 miles gallon city, 30 mpg highway, and 26 combined. With AWD, estimates ease to 22/29/24 mpg (city/highway/combined).
Passenger and Cargo Capacity
The 2023 Cadillac XT4 is a subcompact crossover with seating for five, although four is the limit for comfort on long rides.
The XT4 offers 22.5 cubic feet of cargo space behind the rear seat and 48.9 cubic feet with it folded. These are typical numbers for a luxury crossover of this size. Styling and passenger comfort are more important utility in this class.
Safety Features
The 2023 Cadillac XT4 Luxury comes with blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, rear parking sensors, and automatic emergency braking with pedestrian detection. The $470 Driver Awareness Package adds a following distance indicator, lane-keeping assist, and automatic high beams. These items are standard on the Premium Luxury and Sport, along with front parking sensors.
The $1,100 Driver Assist Package for the Premium Luxury and Sport adds adaptive cruise control and radar-enhanced automatic braking with reverse function. With these features in place, buyers can add the Enhanced Visibility Package ($1,500) with surround-view cameras, a rear camera washer, rear pedestrian alert, a rearview camera mirror, and an automated parking system.
The Technology Package for the Premium Luxury ($1,650) and Sport ($1,400) includes a head-up display.
Connectivity
The standard infotainment system for all XT4 trims includes an 8-inch touchscreen, seven speakers, HD and satellite radio, two front and two rear USB ports, and wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility.
The optional infotainment system ($1,500) adds navigation and a 13-speaker Bose Centerpoint surround-sound system. Wireless device charging is a $300 standalone option on all trims — and is also available in the Technology Package for the Premium Luxury and Sport.
2023 Cadillac XT4 Luxury — MSRP From $37,490
The XT4 starts out with leatherette upholstery, an eight-way power driver seat and a six-way power passenger seat, remote start, proximity key access, and a power liftgate. The exterior wears 18-inch alloy wheels and LED headlights and taillights.
The Cold Weather Package ($850) adds a heated steering wheel and heated front and rear seats. With this bundle in place, buyers can add genuine leather seats for $1,500. A panoramic sunroof costs $1,700.
The $2,695 Radiant Package distinguishes the outside with monochrome emblems, a silver grille, and 20-inch polished alloy wheels.
2023 Cadillac XT4 Premium Luxury — MSRP From $41,390
The Premium Luxury receives a genuine leather interior with wood or aluminum trim, ambient lighting, driver memory settings, and cargo cover. Other upgrades include a hands-free power liftgate, automatic wipers, power-folding side mirrors, and nickel-finish wheels. The Radiant Package remains available.
Models equipped with Cold Weather Package are eligible for a Comfort and Convenience Package ($950) with ventilated front seats, massaging front seats with eight-way passenger power, and perforated leather seat inserts. In addition to the head-up display and wireless charging, the Technology Package adds a digital gauge cluster, a power-adjustable steering wheel, a cabin air purifier, and front cornering lights with LED turn signals.
2023 Cadillac XT4 Sport — MSRP From $41,990
The Sport loses the standard leather seats and wood or aluminum interior trim but picks up a sport steering wheel, alloy pedals, a unique grille, red brake calipers, black exterior trim, standard cornering lights, and 10-spoke wheels. The Comfort and Convenience Package increases to $2,350 because it includes leather upholstery, and the Technology Package drops to $1,400 since cornering lights are already standard.
Available on the Sport only is a $700 adaptive sport suspension.
Compare XT4 Trims Side-By-Side
The 2022 Cadillac XT4 carries a very attractive base MSRP but lacks standard features that buyers expect in this class. The Premium Luxury feels more like a proper Cadillac right out of the box. The Sport may look aggressive, but its unique features are purely cosmetic without the adaptive suspension added.
