The Chevrolet Corvette will gain a Z06 variant for the 2023 model year. The new performance model will return after a 4-year absence since it was last offered for 2019 under the previous C7 Corvette generation.
While Chevy hasn't revealed full specs or features just yet, an early teaser video suggests what it will sound like. There has been speculation that the new Z06 engine may involve a 500-horsepower racecar engine.
We'll have to wait for the car's official debut to know for sure. A year ago, a report surfaced about a new ZR1 model as well as a 1,000-horsepower variant called the ZORA that could arrive around 2025 involving a hybrid.
Pricing for the 2023 Corvette Z06 hasn't been announced. However, since the previous Z06 had a $25,000 premium over the cheapest Stingray, we think it's possible that the C8 Z06 could have an MSRP of around $85,000.
Introduced with a sticker price of around $60,000, the C8 is subject to a $1,200 price increase for 2022. Due to high demand and limited availability, it remains a possibility that Corvette buyers could see an increase for 2023.
Stay tuned for updates as they become available.
