Model Preview

The Chevrolet Corvette finally made the big shift to a mid-engine setup in a 2020 redesign. After three model years on the market, the C8 Corvette will finally include an all-new Z06 model. As for the rest of the 2023 Corvette lineup, we expect it to be a carryover model. Here’s what to expect from the 2023 Corvette.

On the outside, other than some potential new paint and trim options, we expect the bulk of the 2023 Corvette lineup to look the same. However, it's worth noting that Chevy does take pride in going in the direction of personalization by offering 14 exterior colors and eight interior colors that allow for a plethora of different combinations. The big news, however, is the all-new 2023 Corvette Z06, which will be 3.6-inches wider than the base ‘Vette to accommodate larger tires.

The Corvette Z06 will also boast unique front and rear fascias, a standard reconfigurable rear spoiler, 20-inch front and 21-inch rear “spider” wheels, available carbon-fiber wheels, and an available carbon-fiber aero package with a larger front splitter, front-corner canards (dive planes), a pedestal-mounted rear wing, and underbody aero strakes.

Inside, we expect much of the same in the bulk of the 2023 Corvette lineup. We expect most of the core interior details to carry from the base Corvette into the Z06. However, the Z06 will include premium materials for a more upscale look and feel. The Z06 will also include seven interior color options, three seat options, and six seatbelt options.

Under its hood, we expect the bulk of the 2023 Corvette lineup to continue with the same 6.2-liter V8 with 495 horsepower and 470 pound-feet of torque paired with an eight-speed dual-clutch transmission. This setup is good for a three-second 0-60 mph time.

The Z06 will gain an all-new flat-plane-crank 5.5-liter V8 with 670 horsepower and 460 pound-feet of torque paired to an eight-speed dual-clutch transmission. This engine will boast an 8,600-rpm redline, a dry-sump oiling system, and many other racing-inspired bits.

The current Corvette lacks automatic emergency braking, and we don’t expect this to change in the 2023 model. It does, however, have optional blind-spot monitors with rear cross-traffic alert and rear camera mirror, which we expect to remain in 2023.

2023 marks the 70th Anniversary and to that end, Chevy will introduce the 70th Anniversary Package that will come in one of two new colors and optional stripes in complementing colors, 70th Anniversary badging throughout the car, rear bumper protector and trunk cover, the option of two-tone ceramic leather or Competition Sport seats, red stitching through the car, red seatbelts, sueded microfiber seat inserts and steering wheel, and a custom luggage set.

Pricing & Release Date

Chevy hasn't released the production timeframe for the full 2023 Corvette lineup yet, but the Z06 will kick-off its production in the summer of 2022.

Pricing is also unclear, but we expect the base Corvette to have a similar MSRP range as the current one: $62,195-$79,945 (destination fees included). The Z06 will certainly push the MSRP over $100,000. Some dealers are already taking reservations.

This mid-engine sports car will compete with the Porsche 911, Jaguar F-Type, and Nissan GT-R.
