2023 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited Preview Preview, Pricing, Release Date

2023 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited

Model Preview

Jeep came out with a fully redesigned Wrangler Unlimited in 2018. The rugged midsize SUV is on the same schedule as the two-door Wrangler, which leads us to believe that it will be a carryover SUV for the 2023 model year.

With the 2023 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited expected to be a carryover model, the SUV is expected to have the same exterior design as the current model that’s on sale. The current Wrangler Unlimited has a rugged design thanks to chunky fenders, a squared-off design, and sturdy bumpers. The Wrangler Unlimited has some iconic touches like circular headlights, a seven-slot grille, square taillights, and a full-size spare tire on the swing-out tailgate.

The interior of the current Wrangler Unlimited has a sturdy design with durable plastics and a rugged look. Thanks to removable doors and roof, the Wrangler Unlimited controls for the window switches are located toward the bottom of the center console, while the rest of the SUV’s controls are easy to use. The Wrangler Unlimited’s upright design and tall seating position make it easy to see out of. Jeep continues the circular theme on the inside where the SUV has circular gauges, a circular steering wheel, and circular dials. The 2023 Wrangler Unlimited should retain the same interior design as the current SUV that’s on sale.

Jeep Wrangler Unlimited

We don’t expect to see any changes to Wrangler Unlimited’s list of tech features for the 2023 model year. The current SUV comes with a five-inch touchscreen, eight audio speakers, two USB ports, and Bluetooth. Available features include a seven-inch touchscreen, an 8.4-inch touchscreen, Android Auto, Apple CarPlay, a Wi-Fi hot spot, navigation, and nine audio speakers.

The 2023 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited is expected to have the same available engines as the current model. A 3.6-liter V6 engine is expected to be standard. This is the only engine that’s available with a six-speed manual transmission. Available engines include a turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine, a turbocharged 3.0-liter diesel V6 engine, a 6.4-liter V8 engine, and a plug-in hybrid powertrain with a turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine and two electric motors. Power ranges from 260 horsepower up to 470 hp. All Wrangler Unlimiteds come with four-wheel drive and have an available eight-speed automatic transmission.

The current Wrangler Unlimited comes standard with a rearview camera. Optional safety features include forward-collision warning, automatic emergency braking, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, adaptive cruise control, automatic high-beam assist, and rear parking sensors. These features should continue to be available for the 2023 model year.

Pricing & Release Date

Based on last year, we expect the 2023 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited to arrive this fall.

Without any expected changes, pricing for the 2023 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited is expected to remain close to the current model’s. The current Wrangler Unlimited starts at $35,190 (with destination) and goes up to $78,690.

The 2023 Jeep Wrangler will compete against the Ford Bronco, Toyota 4Runner, Ford Bronco Sport, Jeep Cherokee, Subaru Ascent, and Toyota RAV4.
