Model Preview

Kia introduced the all-new EV6 for the 2022 model year. The EV6 is Kia’s first dedicated electric vehicle and is built on the brand’s Electric-Global Modular Platform (E-GMP) that will underpin future models. After coming out with an all-new vehicle, the 2023 Kia EV6 should arrive as a carryover model.

The current EV6 features a bold, futuristic design. The sporty electric car's front end features large triangular headlights, a slim grille, and an angular front fascia that slightly protrudes in front of the hatchback. The EV6 features a heavily raked roofline that naturally flows into the liftgate giving the EV6 a built-in spoiler. The rear end has a futuristic taillight design that runs the entire width of the EV6 and follows the curvature of the body. With short overhangs and a hunkered-down design, the EV6 looks sportier than the majority of other electric cars on the market. As a carryover model, the 2023 EV6 should retain the same design as the current EV6.

With the 2023 EV6 expected to be a carryover model, it should have the same interior design as the electric car that’s currently on sale. On the inside, the EV6 has a thoroughly modern design with two large screens, a two-prong steering wheel, and angular lines. The dashboard has slim lines that highlight the screens, while the angular vents run nearly the full width of the dash. The EV6 has a row of buttons and knobs for ease of use, as well as a rotary shifter that frees up space in the center console.

On the tech front, the current EV6 comes standard with a 12.3-inch instrument cluster, a 12.3-inch touchscreen, navigation, Bluetooth, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, voice recognition, satellite radio, a Wi-Fi hot spot, four audio speakers, and a wireless charging pad. Available tech features include a Meridian audio system. The 2023 EV6 should be available with the same tech features as the current model that’s on sale.

Kia offers the EV6 with multiple powertrains. Lower trims come with a single electric motor on the rear wheels and either a 58-kWh battery or a 77.4-kWh battery pack. Power with the smaller battery pack is rated at up to 167 horsepower and 225 hp with the larger battery pack. The EV6 is also available with two electric motors, which are only available with the 77.4-kWh battery pack. Output with the dual-motor configuration ranges from 320 hp to 576 hp. In the right configuration, the EV6 can travel up to 310 miles. The 2023 EV6’s powertrains should remain unchanged for the new model year.

The current EV6 comes with an extensive list of advanced safety features. Forward collision warning, pedestrian and cyclist detection, adaptive cruise control, Kia’s Highway Driving Assist system, rear cross-traffic alert, blind-spot monitoring, lane-keeping assist, lane following assist, a driver attention monitor, high beam assist, automatic emergency braking, and rear-seat alert are standard. Available features include parking sensors, an augmented reality head-up display, navigation-based adaptive cruise control, a surround-view monitor, and a blind spot monitor camera. These safety features should be offered on the 2023 EV6.

Pricing & Release Date

The 2023 Kia EV6 should arrive in the fall of 2022.

As a carryover model, the 2023 Kia EV6 should have a similar price range as the current model that’s on sale. The 2022 Kia EV6 ranges from $42,115 to $57,115 including destination.

The 2023 Kia EV6 will compete against other electric cars like the Tesla Model 3, Polestar 2, Chevrolet Bolt EV, Nissan Leaf, and Hyundai IONIQ 5.
