2023 Kia Telluride: Preview, Pricing, Release Date

Model Preview

The Kia Telluride debuted in 2020 and has been slathered in praise since. Despite rave reviews, Kia continued updating this three-row crossover, adding new tech and badging in 2022. The 2023 Telluride remains a bit of a mystery, but based on Kia’s regular refresh schedule and prototype photos, the 2023 Telluride may go through a slight update.

On the outside, the current Telluride boasts a confident, upright body with a unique but not over-the-top lighting scheme. Cutting into its upright theme are mild curves and swoops down the sides. We could see a mild update to this design in 2023, and patent filings indicate the possibility of more rugged-looking X-Pro and X-Line models.

Inside, the Telluride boasts a roomy and tech-filled cabin with a standard 10.3-inch touchscreen, Android Auto, Apple CarPlay, and an adult-friendly third-row seat. Plus, there are plenty of upgrades to pick from, including Nappa leather, a Harman Kardon audio system, and more. Other than some potential styling changes and features unique to the X-Pro and X-Line models, we expect no big changes in the 2023 Telluride.

The current Telluride includes a 3.8-liter V6 with 291 horsepower and an eight-speed automatic transmission. Front-wheel drive is standard, but all-wheel drive is available. We expect no powertrain changes to the 2023 Telluride.

Kia has the current Telluride come standard with automatic emergency braking, blind-spot monitors, adaptive cruise control, and active lane control. This and great crash tests earned it IIHS Top Safety Pick honors, but only in the EX and SX trims with the LED headlights. All others received “Poor” headlight ratings, dropping them from the Top Safety Pick category. We expect this to remain the same in the 2023 Telluride.

Pricing & Release Date

There’s no definite on-sale date set for the 2023 Kia Telluride, but we expect a summer 2022 arrival.

Pricing remains unclear, but with a mild refresh, we could see a slight uptick from its current MSRP range of $34,015-$45,815 (destination fees included).

This posh, three-row crossover will compete with the Ford Explorer, Honda Pilot, and Hyundai Palisade.

Stay tuned for more information as it is revealed to us.
