2023 VinFast VF 6 Preview Model Info & Release Date
More models will continue to join the VinFast lineup in the US, and one of the next ones poised to do so is the 2023 VF 6. The VF 6 will serve as the entry-level offering in the Vietnamese startup’s lineup. We’re still awaiting an official press release from VinFast, but here’s what we know about it so far.
The compact VF 6 sports a bold design that makes it stand out from the other larger models in the VinFast lineup. An LED light bar graces an almost Renault-esque front end and the rear of the car is accented by a floating roof. The VF 6 squat shape and plastic wheel arches make it somewhat reminiscent of a Chevy Trax or Hyundai Kona in profile.
The VF 6’s cabin employs a minimalistic design akin to that of a Tesla. The dash is dominated by a 12.9” infotainment screen, which comes standard with navigation and a virtual assistant. The VF 6 also features a head-up display, and wireless smartphone connectivity is optional.

According to InsideEVs, both VF 6 trims will be offered in a single-motor front-wheel drive configuration. The base Eco trim develops 174 hp and 184 lb-ft of torque, while the Plus trim sees those figures increase to 201 hp and 228 lb-ft. Both models utilize a 59.6 kWh battery that offers an expected range of 248 miles in the Eco and 237 in the Plus.
Both VF 6 trims come with an array of safety and driver assistance features as standard, including adaptive cruise control, adaptive lane keep assist, lane centering assist, and highway assist. The VF 6 is over-the-air update capable as well.
VinFast hasn’t announced pricing or a release date for the 2023 VF 6 yet, but we expect it to start around $35,000 and for it to go on sale later this year.
