2024 Acura RDX Preview Preview, Pricing, Release Date

2024 Acura RDX

Model Preview

The current generation of the Acura RDX is entering its fifth model year on sale since it was introduced in 2019. We don’t expect the 2024 Acura RDX to receive any changes for the new model year, as it’s supposed to arrive as a carryover model.

As a carryover model, the 2024 Acura RDX is expected to share the same exterior design as the current model on sale. The RDX features a sporty design with a large shield-shaped grille, angular headlights, and sharp lines on the front fascia. The rear end of the SUV has a split taillight design, dual exhaust outlets, and a relatively large rear spoiler.

The current Acura RDX features a sporty interior design with a dramatically styled dashboard. The compact SUV’s dashboard is the model’s main highlight, featuring a pronounced section that flows directly into the center console. The controls on the center console follow a V-shape with Acura’s push buttons for the transmission and rotary dial for drive modes placed in convenient locations. We don’t expect to see any changes to RDX’s interior design for 2024.

Acura RDX

As a carryover model, the 2024 RDX will come with the same tech features as the current SUV that’s on sale. The current RDX comes with a 10.2-inch display, a seven-inch digital instrument cluster, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a Wi-Fi hotspot, nine audio speakers, voice recognition, and Amazon Alexa compatibility. Available features include a 16-speaker ELS audio system and a wireless charging pad. Unlike most compact SUVs in the segment, the RDX utilizes a trackpad and physical controls to control the infotainment system.

Acura offers the RDX with a turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine. It’s rated at 272 horsepower and 280 pound-feet of torque. The engine is paired with a 10-speed automatic transmission that routes power to the front wheels or to all four. The RDX’s powertrain should go unchanged for 2024.

Standard safety features on the current RDX include automatic emergency braking, forward collision warning, lane departure warning, lane keeping assist, traffic sign recognition, adaptive cruise control, blind spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, and automatic high-beam assist. These features should continue to be standard on the 2024 RDX. Available features should include a surround-view parking camera and parking sensors.

Pricing & Release Date

We expect the 2024 Acura RDX to arrive this fall. Acura hasn’t announced pricing for the SUV yet, but without any changes, the 2024 model should remain close to the current SUV which ranges from $42,745 to $48,395 (with destination).

The Acura RDX competes in the compact luxury SUV segment against options like the Porsche Macan, BMW X3, Genesis GV70, Lexus NX, Volvo XC60, Mercedes-Benz GLC-Class, and Audi Q5.
