Buick recently revealed its 2024 Buick Encore GX wearing the brand's new tri-shield logo. The small SUV is set to elevate the segment and brings with it the Avenir name to expand the lineups luxury. New styling also introduces the new face of Buick to North America. The 2024 Buick Encore GX aims to impress as a premium small SUV with a new exterior look and a tech-centered interior.

In a recent press release, Bob Boniface the Director of Global Buick Design said “The new Encore GX delivers a sleek, sporty, sophisticated presence. It’s inherently functional, yet the new exterior design creates a more stylish and modern persona that is unique in today’s small SUV segment.”

The new exterior of the Encore GX sees a new front facia design with a forward-leaning front that shows off the new body-mounted tri-shield badge. Signature winged LED headlamps accentuate the new modern grille. At the back, the new rear end features the new Buick logo and typography centered on the tailgate while new LED taillights are standard on both ST and Avenir trims.

On the inside, the updated interior of the refreshed Buick Encore GX is centered around intuitive technology and the new Buick Virtual Cockpit System (VCS). VCS features two high-definition screens under one sheet of glass, for a total of 19 diagonal inches – an 11-inch diagonal infotainment system and a configurable 8-inch diagonal driver cluster screen. Both are angled toward the driver for intuitive control.

Under the hood, the 2024 Encore GX comes standard with a 1.2-liter turbocharged engine producing 137 horsepower and 152 lb-ft of torque. You can also choose the available 1.3-liter turbocharged engine that produces 155hp and 174 lb-ft of torque. The engines provide greater responsiveness and a more engaging drive for buyers compared to the old naturally-aspirated engine.

Front-wheel drive models come paired with a CVT, while available AWD models are paired with a nine-speed automatic transmission. Buick estimates FWD models will get a combined fuel economy of 30 mpg, while AWD models will offer around 27 mpg combined.

As far as standard safety is concerned, the 2024 Buick Encore GX comes with the Buick Driver Confidence package which has active safety features such as automatic emergency braking, lane keep assist with lane departure warning, IntelliBeam auto high-beams, forward collision alert, front pedestrian braking, and a following distance indicator. Additional features are available through safety and technology packages.
